20 August 2011 Dear All,
I want to know what are the major risk involved for going with SRP instead of doing export of goods through Bond.
Pls share your practical experience.

20 August 2011 under SRP the manufacturer has to
a) prepare ARE-1 under claim for rebate of duty, export invoice, debit duty and clear the goods, by signing and ARE-1 under self sealing and certification.

b) within 24 hours of export, the manufactuer has to submit the triplicate / quarduplicate copies of ARE-1 to Range Superintendent under dated acknowledgement.

c) within 6 months of clearance goods the exporter has to submit the claim for rebate with relevent documents, viz ARE-1, Bill of lading, Shipping Bill, Export invoice, Packing List, Bank Realization certificate.
to DC or Maritime commissionarate as desired by exporter in ARE-1.

d) after verification of documents submitted by exporter, department will check the correctness of consignment exported with .....i) triplicate copy submitted by R/O, ii) duplicate copy from customs port of export and would allow the rebate to exporter.

20 August 2011 Hello Sir,
Thanks for the reply. Is only higher level person like CFO,MD can sign the ARE-I or even Asst Mgr or Manager can also sign the document. In SRP procedure it was written that, through Board resolution any other person can also sign the document.Pls clarify??
And also when goods entered in Custom,it will open for verification,is there any risk involved at that time??

20 August 2011 as per company board resolution any person can get appointed as signatory to excise documents, provided copy of such resolution is submitted to department.

the power of inspection is vested with manufacturer also, so it will be treated as good as sealed by excise, however 5% random cases are selected by customs for physical verification by opening the packing, irrespective of facts that its sealed by self or excise.

20 August 2011 Thanks for all of my queries...Now i will go with SRP for doing export of goods.

20 August 2011 even if you ask your R/O to supervise the export consignment and seal the consignment, he will not depute any person, unless the export consignment is covered any DEPB/or any other benefit scheme, as the board has instructions to let the manufacturer seal and verify the plain export consignments under self sealing.
