05 November 2014 I established a Sec.25 company with Pvt. Ltd. title in 2012. Its a non profit organization. As it was further needed we went for 12 a and 80 g registration under Income Tax. I am operating in Chhattisgarh. The IT Dept. asked for requisite details as audit and all, we supplied everything as required. But our case was returned with a reason that 12a and 80g is only for charitable organizations and not for a Pvt. Ltd. company. They did not accept the Sec.25 status. I went back to my CA, she says we are eligible for 80g. Further she asked me to search a similar case where 80 g is granted. I am in a fix, Please help me out.

05 November 2014 section 25 companies are eligible for charitable registrations. you may refer to companies like Give India who have been granted similar 80G/12A registrations.

06 November 2014 Dear Mr. Kaushik , thanks for your input. But our IT officer says that those given 80g do not have Pvt. Ltd. tag in their names. This is creating an issue. I would be really helped if I could get any direction on it.

06 November 2014 i dont think there is any such restriction unless your MOA/AOA suggest that the activities are for profit motive...
