Is scholarship received by assessee from his employer for assesses' child is exempt from tax as a whole?

Yes. Scholarship is exempt for the employee
provided the same is granted to meet the cost of education.

Cost of Education has got a wider sense AND includes almost all the expenditure like hostel fee, clothes, travelling and expenses etc. of a student.
