If a employee has worked for 8 months.
Whether the standard deduction of Rs. 40000/- will be on prorata basis or fixed 40000/- can be claimed.

standard deduction is fixed irrespective of the month employed. So you can claim flat Rs.40000/- irrespective of the month worked.
