25 June 2011 Pls tell me an assessee earning his income by way of salary only, can he filled his return in form ITR-1(SAHAJ) since somebody had told that individual is not required to filled his return bcs company has filled on his behalf. is it mandorty for company to file its employee's return for the f.y.2010-11 and onwards........

25 June 2011 No such announcement had been made by the CBDT. And the assessee who is the employee shall file his return and there is no compulsion on the employer company to file the return on behalf of the employees.

25 June 2011 Individuals having total income up to Rs. 5,00,000 for FY 2010-11, after allowable deductions, consisting of salary from a single employer and interest income from deposits in a saving bank account up to Rs. 10,000 are not required to file their income tax return.
