16 March 2010 if i e-file salary return for F.Y.2007-08/A.Y.2008-2009
DO i have to submit the return manually to the I.T.O OR i can send it by ordinary post to banglore.

16 March 2010 E filed acknowledgement should necessarily be submitted to the jurisdictional ITO and not to B'lore.

17 March 2010 I don't Agree with expert opinion. E file acknowledgement must submit to the banglore by ordinary post within 60 days. and you don't require to SUBMIT manually to the I.T.O. and it is also mention in incometaxindia.gov.in website

17 March 2010 Pl read circular no 3/2009 dated 21/05/2009.The B'lore affair is for asst year 2009-10 and not for earlier assessment years. Now 60 days also has been changed. Please read the relevant portion of press release dated 27/1/2010 extracted below.
Central Board of Direct Taxes has decided to extend the time limit for filing ITR-V form relating to income-tax returns filed electronically (without digital signature) on or after 1st April 2009, up to 31st March 2010 or within a period of 120 days from the date of uploading of the electronic return data, whichever is later. The ITR-V form should continue to be sent by ordinary post to Post Bag No.1, Electronic City Post Office, Bengaluru – 560100 (Karnataka). However, in cases where email acknowledgement for ITR-V form is not received by the taxpayer from the CPC Bengaluru, the taxpayer may send another duly signed ITR-V form by speed post to Centralized Processing Centre, Electronic City Post Office, Bengaluru, Karnataka – 560100.

17 March 2010 In circular it is no where written that return filed for AY 2008-09 can not be submitted to bangluru..

But it is clearly written that no ITR-V shall be received in any other office of the department.

So in my opinion too, ITR-V is to be sent througth ordinary post to bangluru...

17 March 2010 Please have a look at the headline of the circular referred by me which is reproduced below.
NEW RETURN FORMS FOR ASSESSMENT YEAR 2009-10 MATTERS CONNECTED THERETO.
What does that mean? The new procedure(ie., B'lore affair)is for assessment year 2009-10.

17 March 2010 Sir, I filed more then 100 return of A.y. 08-09 and itr v send to bangglore, i received all the ackno. receipt for A.Y. 08-09. Sir another thing most of the return for getting loan and all financial institution given loan on that return means all r legally valid means not to require submit ackno. to ITO.
