04 March 2011 does an indian employed by world bank to work abroad for more than 180 days in short breaks during one financial year needs to pay income tax in india or is the income is exempt.IF YES THEN 1) BECAUSE WORLD BANK SALARY IS EXEMPT OR 2) BECAUSE THE INDIVDUAL HAS RESIDED ABROAD FOR MORE THAN 180 DAYS. if it is not exempt but taxable then at what rate payment is to be made.

06 March 2011 World Bank will deduct TDS on his Salary.

If the person has remained out of India for more than 182 days, then he will be treated as an NRI.

Salary received abroad by an NRI is not taxable in India.
