27 September 2013 what would be the max limit of exemption in house rent allowance ? - an simple ans would be that there is no limit. but what is more technical ans ? something more logical to the point ?

28 September 2013 Least of the following is exempted :-

1. Actual house rent allowance received from your employer
2. Actual house rent paid by you minus 10% of your basic salary
3. 50% of your salary if you live in a metro or 40% of your basic salary if you live in a non-metro
