Risk of issuing two invoices bearing the same invoice number

What is the risk involved in issuing two invoices bearing the same invoice number to two different clients? Would there be any implication if one of the said invoices is cancelled?

During Audit it would surely create alot of preoblems namely:-
(a)Disallowed
(b)The auditor will not approve it and hence would in-turn cancel it and you would have to get a new one done.

The worse may be that you may be caught by tax (sales tax, excise, income tax etc.) authorities and they will charge the company with accusations to indulge in tax evading practices (like you do this regularly and cancels everytime the otherone but this time you are caught)
