Right of member to hold document of the company

CAN A MEMBER OF THE COMPANY CAN HOLD THE DOCUMENT OTHER THEN PUBLIC DOCUMENT .IF YES THE IN WHICH SECTION OF COMPANIES ACT AUTHORIZES THIS AND IF NOT THE WHAT ARE THE ACTIONS CAN A COMPANY TAKE AGAINST THE MEMBER .ACTUALLY I WANT TO KNOW THE RIGHT OF HOLDING OTHER THEN PUBLIC DOCUMENT OF THE COMPANY BY THE MEMBER AND THE SECTION IN WHICH THIS AUTHORITY IS GIVEN.

A member is not entitled to hold papers of the company. As per company act, a member is entitled to share certificate and balance sheet etc.
For unauthorized holding of company documents company can take legal action and may go for FIR against the person.
Would request you to mention the name of doc for better observation.
