Quick Summary
If you've filed a belated Income Tax Return (ITR) for AY 2019-20 and realised you made an error, unfortunately, you cannot revise it. The rules state that belated returns cannot be amended. However, revised returns can be filed under Section 139(5) of the Income Tax Act, as amended by the Finance Act of 2016.
