SIR,
I HAVE FILED AN INCOME TAX RETURN OF A CLIENT FOR A.Y-2011/12 ON 06/08/2012.BUT AFTER FILLING I FOUND THAT THE ADDRESS WHICH IS GIVEN IN THE RETURN FORM IS DIFFERENT FROM THE ONE WITH IT DEPARTMENT.THE CLIENT HAVE A REFUND OF AMOUNT EXCEEDING RS.40,000.00.SO, I WANT TO KNOW WHETHER I CAN FILE A REVISED RETURN NOW OR IS THERE ANY ALTERNATIVE COURSE OF ACTION IS AVAILABLE TO ME.
PLEASE HELP ME IN THIS REGARDS.

If the address is correct, then refund will be dispatched to the address even if it does not match with the address in the Income Tax database.

Whether the client is an individual or company or what type of person
If he is other than company, was he liable for tax audit
The answer is in case of return which is filed after due date, it cannot be revised.
So better is meet the AO and explain him this.
