22 November 2013 I have file the Return for the AY 2012-13 within the due date, and i have got my refund but i forgot to claim TDS of 5000/- so can i revise it now....!!!!!

22 November 2013 1. you cannot revise the return as assessment has already been completed.

2. if this is not a salary return, you can claim the credit of the said taxes in next years' return.

3. you can file a rectification application. here you may rely on the verdict of Gujarat High Court in the case of Vaghjibhai S. Bishnoi v/s Income-tax Officer SPECIAL CIVIL APPLICATION NO. 6726 OF 2013 judgment date JULY 9, 2013

Further, Income tax DG Systems FAQs also provide for increasing TDS amount under 154.

"TDS amount can be increased u/s 154 by sending TDS approval request with updated
TDS amount. A new screen will be opened during computation as “Claimed TDS correction”. In that screen user needs to enter correct TDS amount in “Correct TDS claim as per return” field and click on submit button. This TDS approval request will be raised to Range. TDS approval request can be approved only once and TDS approval request cannot be resend once accepted. It cannot be cancelled after accepted by Range. This is a one time facility , hence should be utilized very
carefully."
