Return transferred to ao

25 May 2016 why are certain returns transferred to AO for processing, is it only for Scrutiny under 142(2) or any other reasons?
Most of the returns are processed by the CPC Bangalore, but some are transferred outside the jurisdiction of Bangalore CPC to jurisdiction AO, is it because they have been selected for scrutiny by CASS? or are there any other reason.

26 May 2016 Normally, It is transferred to AO form CPC if any clarification and documents are required to complete the assessment.
