14 September 2012 Dear All,

A Company was formed on 30th March 2011. The bank account is opened in April & no transaction was carried out till opening of bank account in April.

Now my question is that whether we have to file Income tax return for A.Y 2012-13 since company was in existence only for one day.

Plz Guide.

14 September 2012 Why one day dear? 30 march 2011 and 31 march 2012... it is more than 365 days. (If it is assumed to be a spelling mistake on your part and instead of 30 march 2011 , it is presumed to be 30 march 2012, then your contention is correct. You have an option to make the first finalisation on 31st march 2013 and not 31st march 2012.

The date is March 31, 2012 & 2011 is written by mistake.

15 September 2012 You can have the option of closing the FIRST year accounts on 31/03/2013.
