Hello friends, i have a small doubt, i was filling my mom's IT return, and while filling it, i found there is a difference in "amount paid/credited" column in part A of form 16, and "gross salary" in part B, while tax payable and TDS deducted is same,hence nil tax payable, i have found this in many other form 16,am curious to know the reson for such difference.

check her 26 AS credit for more clraification

THE tds DEDUCTED is same as in form 16, my only query is why is there a difference in "amount credited/deposited" column in part A and gross salary in part B, shouldnt they be same?

it has to be same if 26 AS is also giving the same figure.....else how can u claim tds while u compute the final tax liability.

not necessary. Part A reflects total amount paid to the employee...whereas Part B reflects final taxable income.
