27 July 2012 Respected Sir,
I am having income from salary around Rs. 364000 & interest on fixed deposits more than Rs. 10000 in F.Y. 2011-12. Is it compulsory for me to file a IT return.

27 July 2012 Yes you have to file tax return because u have a income of interest on Fixed deposit.
Salaried persons are exempted for filing income tax return only when salary is upto 5 lacs and interest from savings bank account is not more than 10,000.

So u have to file income tax return in ITR1 sahaj.
