I have filed my Income Tax Return for the assessment year 2008-09 elcronically .
Do i have to get it stamped from the Income Tax department or do i have to send the return to bangalore ?

Dear you have to send this to banglore before the 30 Sep 2009 if you have upload the same till 31 july 2009
if you have no tax liability than you can file your return till 31.3.2010
if you have no tax liability than you can file your return till 31.3.2010

If the reurn is not digitally signed , Pl send ITR V to Bangalore with in 60 days from the date of e-filing or 30th september 2009 which ever is later.

AY 2008-09 have to file in department only, from AY 2009-10 you have to post to bangalore...

I Stand corrected. Error in noticeing the asst year is regretted. Mr. Balasubramanya's view is absolutely correct.
