13 October 2015 sir plss guide me about i should select demand is correct by wrongly but demand is incorrect....now i want to re outstanding demand for selecting demand is incorrect now im what do???

21 July 2025 If you have already responded that the demand is correct but later realize the demand is incorrect and you want to change your response, here’s what you can do:

Check if you can revise your response:
Most income tax portals allow you to submit a revised response to a demand notice before the demand is finally processed or passed. Login to your account and check if the system allows correction.

File a rectification or grievance:
If the portal doesn’t allow direct revision, you can file a rectification request under Section 154 or raise a grievance through the income tax department’s grievance portal explaining the mistake and providing details to correct it.

Submit supporting documents:
Along with your revised or fresh response, provide proof and documents that justify why the demand is incorrect.
