Is there any need to pass the resolution for payment of director Remuneration as per companies Act,1956.

Yes it is very much advisable to pass resolution for giving remuneration to a director.

for pvt co, board resolution is enough
for public co, refer section 269(2), sch XIII
in which appointment and remuneration of MD, WTD should be approved in GM and return to be filed with Roc.section 269(1 ) and (2) are independent provisions.
