02 December 2011 whether benefit of extended period of stay of 182 days is available to employees going abroad on deputation basis while determining their residential status ?

03 December 2011 Residential Status is based on actual stay under any circumstance.
.
If an employee leaves India for the purpose of employment, and he has not been India for an aggregate period of 182 days during the previous year, his residential status will be that of an NRI.
.
Deputation also mean for the purpose of employment.
