Renewal of 80g certificate

Dear Sir/Madam,
A trust registered under 12A and get certificate under section 80G but the certificate expired on 31st March 2005 and trust not applied for renewal yet.
The query is now whether the trust have to apply for renewal of certificate or apply for fresh registration certificate.

the process is same. Just approach the Income-tax department with the old certificate and the other documents required for 80G registration
