A Director can be removed by following way:-
1. Removal by Shareholders Section 284
2. By the central government Section
388 B to 388 E
3. By CLB Section 402

By passing an Ordinary Resolution u/s 284 a director can be removed.
I would suggest please go through section-284.
Also go through section-190 of companies act, 1956.
