08 November 2024 The RRR Number is generated when you make an online payment (e.g., through Challan 280). This number is crucial because it links your payment to your tax return.
Ensure that you have correctly entered the RRR Number as it appears in your payment receipt. If you entered an incorrect number, that could lead to the "Invalid Previous RRR Number" error.
Sometimes, there may be a delay in reflecting the payment in the system or the RRR may not be updated correctly. You can check the "Tax Paid" status on the Income Tax Portal.
If you find any discrepancies or your payment hasn’t been recorded, you may need to contact the tax department or the bank through which you made the payment.
