22 May 2010 Dear Sir,

I need your opinion on the following issue

One of Private Education Society Conducting courses which is recognized as well not recognized.

Wanted to know the Tax liability for both.

service provider providing Goods & Material provided like Books, laptop can get Exclusion from Value of Service.

Pls reply on Urgent basis & If have any case laws or notification pls send the same.

23 May 2010 In your case the service provided by Private Education Society is not fall under "commercial training or coaching centre" as so far of the courses for which issues any certificate or diploma or degree or any educational qualification recognised by law for the time being in force.

The Goods & Material provided like Books, laptop are not covered under taxable services only when the proper record are maintained by the service provider
