13 November 2015 sir ; our client is proprietor having 2 different business with different business names ... now he wants register under service tax ... can he apply for 1 service tax reg. no. or 2 diff. ser tax. number ????

13 November 2015 Since service tax registration is for the business entity, so only one registration is mandatory and required. You can add taxable services under one registration. For example, if you are providing two different services - Legal consultancy services and Intellectual property services. In this case you have to mention both the services under service tax registration with its respective accounting codes 00440080 & 00440278 respectively.
