I want to open a partnership firm trading in diamond studded gold jewellery i want to know about the Steps to be followed while opening a new trading business of jewellery.
Which taxes are applicable to a jewellery trader in Mumbai ?

Mr Author,
You have to register under Maharashtra VAT Act-2002 on line. Go to www.mahavat.gov.nic.in,on the left side click e-registration,you will get the form fill your required particulars and continue.Submit the necessary documents and pay fees and security deposit as per rules mentioned threin.You can register this way. Tax rate is 1% or 1.1%,depending on the articles you cell.....mjk

Take the trade licence too;make a partnership deed ;get it registered if u want;
