27 April 2011 I am running 3 restaurants in mumbai (all are units of a single Private Limited Company) out of which two are air conditioned and provide liquor...so service tax applicable on them ...however third restaurant is not having liquor licence....it the third restaurant exempt from service tax?

Can i take seperate registration for each restaurant under service tax ..because billing and accounting are done at each individual restaurant....

28 April 2011 Registration under service tax is of premises and not entity. One company may have many premises and is required to get registered only those premises from where taxable services are provided. In your case, you can get two registrations of your two restaurants on which service tax is going to be applicable from 1st May 2011. Application for registration should be made within 30 days from the applicability of service tax.
