Hey! If you want to cancel your GST registration, here’s the straightforward process you can follow:
How to Cancel GST Registration
Login to GST Portal:
Go to GST Portal.
Login with your credentials (username and password).
Navigate to Cancellation Application:
Go to Services > Registration > Application for Cancellation of Registration.
Fill Cancellation Form:
Select the reason for cancellation (e.g., business closed, no longer liable, etc.).
Provide the date from which cancellation is sought.
Submit Documents:
Attach any required documents supporting your cancellation request.
For example, proof of business closure or declaration.
Verification:
You need to digitally sign the application using DSC or EVC.
Submit the cancellation request.
Acknowledgement:
After submission, you will get an ARN (Application Reference Number).
The tax officer will verify and approve the cancellation within 7 working days.
Important Points:
If you have any pending returns, you need to file them before cancellation.
You can also request cancellation if you have not started your business or turnover is below threshold.
Once cancellation is approved, you will receive confirmation on your registered email.
