Hi everyone,
Please suggest the "Date of payment of service tax" in the following case in case of a company:
Date of service provided : 15/09/2014
Date of Invoice : 12/10/2014
Date of Payment : 16/10/2014.

Since you have raised the invoice within 30 days of completion of provision of services, the date of invoice will be the point of taxation as per Point of Taxation Rules. Also, the payment was received in the same month na ? So, the payability id during the month of October 2014. And the due date would be 5th of November 2014.

Adding to John's reply, it is mandatory to pay the service tax through online from 01.10.2014. Hence, the due date is 6th of Nov 2014 for payment (not 5th as replied by Mr.John).

I don't agree with Mr. Mohammed Hussain Sir.
The due date will be 6th of next month IF paying electronically.
Here, the assessee failed to pay it either online or else electronically. So, the due date automatically will be on the 5th of he next month.
This is from experience.
