REGARDING TDS PAYMENT

21 March 2011 I WANT to MAKE E-PAYMENT OF Rs 87375/- (UNDER SECTION 94A).

AT TIME OF MAKING E-PAYMENT THROUGH HDFC BANK, IT HAS DONE
TDS Rs 87375/-
Interest Rs 87375/- total e-payment was made Rs 1,74,750/- instead of Rs 87375/-.

But in HDFC CHALLAN IT SHOWN PAYMENT OF Rs 1,74,750/- (it cannot shown TDS AMOUNT Rs this much & interest amount this much)

How to get refund of Rs 87375/-

21 March 2011 I think you have put same amt. in both tds & interest. if your a/c has debited with 1,74,750/- it will treat as mistakes. you need to write a letter to your AO TDS circle, informing them about mistake and tell them about excess payment.
if its only value mistake its didn't effect your balance then doesnt matter.

some banks challan/counterfoil shown only gross amount you can bifecate in your etds return.it doesn't make any difference.

21 March 2011 First of All try to adjust the excess payment against TDS payable within same FY if any.

Secondly if you entered the amount in interest column it will always show the TDS and interest amount separately.

Finally you if adjustment not possible meet your TDS assessing officer and tell him the situation and ask for solution.
