Regarding Service Tax on Rent

Whether Service tax payable on Rent, it has been said that Mumbai High Court has stayed such levy on Rent. what is the current status could anyone tell me.

It is better you pay service tax on rent to avoid future interest and penalty if in future supreme court gives verdict in favour of govt.

Post amendment by the Finance Act, 2010, The Hon'ble High Court of Delhi has again stayed recovery of Service Tax on Rent till disposal of the writ petition.

We have the advantage of opinion of eminent author Mr. Hiregange as well.
