Regarding of set off of marks

09 August 2013 Yesterday i met my one of friend and he told me that if you have cleared your any of the group of CA Final with more than 200 marks in any attempt, than that excess marks will be made available for set off in pending group for calculating 200 marks in next or subsequent attempt.

Is it true?

Is it possible to get benefit of this kind of set off.

Please help experts.

09 August 2013 This provision is applicable if you appear for both the groups together.

It DOES not apply to successive attempts.

For eg. If you appear for both groups in Nov 2013 and secure marks as under:

Group 1: 250/400
Group 2: 150/400

Then the benefit of set off will be available. You will be declared passed in both the groups (provided you have scored minimum 40 marks in each subject)

This benefit CANNOT be carried to the successive exam.
