Dear experts,
I am employed in a company since last 2 years.
But from April 2011 to June 2011 I was on leave. so I did't received salary for that period.
My query is :- though I did't rceived salary this period I was regularly paying Rent to my landlord.
So can I deduct Rent paid for 12 months from HRA received for 10 months.

While computing HRA deduction, rent will be considered only for the period for which salary has been received.

No you can not do so.. You can claim rent for the relevant period with salary only...
