i wanted to know what is the procedure if a seller company denies to accept the C-form..And forces the buyer to pay higher rate of tax
As in Maharashtra the sale tax authority denies to issue advance C form and many companies across india deny accepting c form after the deal and asks the buyer to produce c form against sell and not after the stipulated time that is set by out state sale tax department...

This problem has cropped up due to on-line supply of 'C' forms. This is generated only after one fills up details of purchases made such as invoice no seller's TIN no date of inv etc. In some states you should have declared such interstate purchases in your monthly return already.The one way you can try is produce the guidelines issued by your state CTD for obtaining C form from the web site,to the seller and ask them to help.A copy of your RC may also be furnished to such adamant sellers. Some manufacturers and distributors take such tough stand when they have a good demand for their products.The commercial tax departments are unlikely to change their procedure for the sake of few such non-co-operative dealers.....mjk

thanks a lot mr MJ krishnamurthy for the guidance secondly can u please let me know the official website of cst maharashtra where i can go through the guidlines and also the rules for CENTRAL sales tax ..y does rules vary from state to state for central sales tax and cforms when it is being controlled by central and not by the state department.

The web site of Maharashtra is www.mahavat.gov.nic.in. In almost all states 'C' form is issued subject to production of invoice copies and declaration in returns. You can go through the guidelines given in the above web site...mjk
