13 March 2012 Dear Sir,

can i know the AY for the VAT which is pertaining to march 2012? whether is 2011-12 or 2012-13???

14 March 2012 The assessment year would be 2012-13. But in sales tax there is no AY. The assessments and other procedures are taken into considerations keeping FY in view.

16 March 2012 For Sales tax it is per quarter and not the assessment year. If you go by the assessment year then the same assessment year as required for the Income tax is applicable. Therefore, the Assessment Year will be 2012-13
