11 April 2011 Dear sir,

amount paid to RTO AGENT whether it is professional or brokerage service ?

as the amount paid is excess of Rs.5000/-.

12 April 2011 One thing is clear that the RTO Agent has provided a Service.

Brokerage or commission is generally paid in connection with the commodity or services related with the assessee's business activities .

So, the nature of payment is not in the form of brokerage.
