I have to get refund from IT department for the previous year. I also given my bank account for refund purpose. If I close my bank account what will happen ?
Is there any provision for giving new account to it department

your refund will get stuck. but you have the option of changing the bank account details by revising the tax return.

if you recd the ch. then you submit with dept for change of a/c number.

if u close that bank account then u will see hard time in getting ur refund even if u resubmit the bew bank detaisl practically they will make ur life hell for refund as they take lot of time in case of refunds so better contact ur ao also additionally to be on ur safer side.
