11 March 2011 Dear all,

kindly let me know is there any provision for refund of Special Additional Duty (SAD) in case where we are importing the fibre and export it after making yarn out of it??

Pls reply on the earliest basis.

Thanks

12 March 2011 please noted that:-
in case of sad refund goods Imports into India are charged with an Additional Duty of Customs (or Special Additional Duty – SAD as is popularly known) at the rate of 4% and is leviable under sub-section (5) of Section 3 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975. This is charged on the total value of imports including CIF + Basic Customs duty + CVD. This duty is to countervail sales tax leviable on the sale of goods in India.

if you export this items you can either take cenvat or dgft incentive one incentive not both.
