Can u please let me know whether e-filing of income tax return is an effective tool for getting fater refund. How much time it takes to get refund through e filing of return?

29 February 2012 E filing is surely a better way to file the return as well as a better way of getting the refund.. the refund will be processed upon processing of the return.. which can take about 3 months to a year also.. you have to regularly check the status online..

01 March 2012 Thanx hari for your early response. But i have seen many people who filed their returns electronically but could not get refund even after one year . In that situation what should they do.Should they remind income tax department or again file a revised return manually?

01 March 2012 No, Don't file the revised return. Check the Form 26AS that your tax credit is there as you claimed in ITR. if yes call CPC and query about assessment.
