07 July 2009 At a meeting quorum was present at the time of starting the meeting, was not present during meeting (left the meeting in between), what shall be its consequence.

QUORUM FOR BOARD AND COMMITTEE MEETING

Quorum should be present not only at the time of commencement of business but also at every stage of the transaction of the meeting of Board meeting and committee meetings and unless quorum is present at every such stage, the business transacted is void.

07 July 2009 It has been held in "Re. Hartly Baird Ltd." that the quorum required is the quorum to be present at the time of beginning to consider the business and it need not be present throughout the general meeting or at the time taking the vote on any resolution.

To conclude quorum is required to be present throughout the board & committee meeting.
In case of general meeting and class meeting of shareholders it is required to be present only at the beginning of the meeting.
