how a company should make provision on 31.1.09 for the sale promotion activity for which the bills will be submitted on 15.2.09. as per my opinion the previous trends i have to go through and then i have to make provision accordingly.

DEAR SUPRIYO
AS PER MY OPINION IF THE EXPENDITURE OF SALES PROMOTION HAS BEEN INCURRED AND YOU HAVE PROPER ESTIMATION OF THE SAME AS ON 31.01.2009 THEN YOU CAN PROVIDE THE SAME IN THE BOOKS OF ACCOUNTS.
IF YOU HAVE NO ESTIMATION THEN YOU CAN GO FOR THE PREVIOUS TRENDS BUT IT DEPENDS ON THE WORK DONE DURING THE PERIOD UNDERTAKEN IS EQUIVALENT TO THE PREVIOUS ASSIGNMENTS.
