Respected sir
����������������� I am p.venkata suresh working as development officer in LIC. sir I have problem regarding following issue.
Sir my father took HOUSING� loan� amounting to 13 LAKHS with LIC HFL for renovation purpose . as he was retired employee� I was introduced as CO-APPLICANT while while taking loan.
Sir i am paying interest on loan by giving POST DATED CHEQUES for entire financial year.���
Can I claim for TAX EXEMPTION for the interest� paid on housing loan.
As I was introduced as CO_APPLICANT while taking loan I was not allowed to claim for TAX exemption on the interest paid on housing loan in My office .
Sir my father is not filing income tax as he is retired employee moreover his pension is less than 2 LAKHS per annum for financial year.
My father is ready to give NOC stating that he is not filing income tax on the interest paid on HOUSING loan which I mentioned earlier.
Sir kindly suggest me how to overcome this issue. my office officials are asking for sections under which I can claim for IT EXEMPTION on the loan taken .
at present my salary is 3lakhs per annum sir.
Please suggest me regarding this sir.
