Query regarding service tax exemption limit of rs. 10lakhs

16 December 2013 I have a doubt regarding, service exemption limit. Please clarify it, if assessee is registered for service tax registration even though newly registered service provider(say 13-14) is first financial year. So, he wants to collect the service tax and the same have to pay to the Department.?? or He can avail exemption of Rs. 10,00,000/-??

16 December 2013 it is upto him that not to avail the exemption of this 10 lacs.
so in case if he collects the tax, he must pay it to govt.
or he can avail the exemption, for this don't charge tax upto rs 10 lacs invoice in starting.
it doesnt matter service tax reg. taken.

If assessee exceeded 10lakhs during the year means, he has to pay service tax. That's it??
