Query on salary cycle

I have seen that most of the corporate are following salary cycle ie: 16th to 15th of following month.

Just want to know that is there any specific reasons/benefits for doing that?

Please explain for my knwoledge

11 December 2016 Most the business are following 1st to month end as salary period. I can not guess any specific reason for the period mentioned by you. I t may to get more time for payment of ESI, PF, TDS etc.
