03 July 2014 Whether following directors can be removed or not u/s 284 of companies act,1956:-
1)Director of a private company, holding office for life on the 1st day of April, 1952(Life time director)
2)Director appointed by BIFR under SICA

05 July 2014 Kindly note section 284 is not active now. However, both kinds of directors along with directors appointed by Central Govt. cannot be removed under section 284 of Companies Act, 1956.

05 July 2014 Thank you very much. You are right that sec 284 is replaced by sec 169 of Cos' Act,2013. I want to further ask that according to sec 169 of Cos' Act,2013 which directors can't be removed?
