28 October 2014 Hello Sir, I am currently involved in the business of purchasing t-shirts, getting them printed and selling the aame in wholesale and retail. I am now thinking to use e commerce as a channel to sale. It requires me to get VAT TIN. Also i wish to set up my proprietorship. Kindly advice me how to go abouy it. Will i be requiring any registration under any other tax laws. Thanks & Regards Yashika Jain

29 October 2014 you simply need to get a Tin no. for this as e commerce co.do not entertain unless u have a tin no. For this u don't need to register under any other government authorities provided u do not cross the turnover limits else u will require.

29 October 2014 In e-commerce local and interstate purchases and sales,even import and export, are made.Hence,a VAT registration in your state of office is necessary.Then only you can get a TIN no.Here no limit of sales turnover is applicable in all states.This can be done online.Visit the web site of your state commercial tax department.All details for e-registration will be available.....mjk
