my neighbor was died on last week, he was running business as proprietor. now his son want to continue his business. shall he continue his father's business and how to operate existing bank account.

If a WILL is present , then entire switch over would be easy.
If not, then better to take the consent of ALL legal heirs of the deceased and then take the suitable actions.

he can carry the business of his father for that he have to file his father income tax return till the date of expire of his father. after that period to 31.3.201...
