Dear Sir
I am planning to start a placement consultancy and investment consultancy in Rajasthan. My annual turnover would be less than 5 lakh per annum. Do i require to register under servicce tax. IF yes then what are the formalities to be completed for proprietorship. What are the requirement for services tax registration as proprietorship.

If turnover in previous year is less than Rs.10 Lakhs of taxable services then there is no need of registration under finance act 1994

i beg to differ avinash but registration is at RS.900000 ( nine lakhs) however taxability would start only after crossing turnover of Rs.1000000
