Can a husband buy (payment done from his bank account) a plot in his wife's (not an income taxpayer) name from legal funds he earned? And what if he has done it?

1.Yes, he can purchase it in his wife's name. Only thing is any future income from the property will get clubbed with Income of Husband. 2. Generally claiming any exemptions under the act becomes difficult.
